Due to Nobivac stopping production of the Lepto2 vaccination in January 2025 and vets now offering the choice of no vaccination for Leptospirosis or the Lepto4 vaccination, I have made the decision NOT to vaccinate my adult dogs, guardian dogs or puppies with the Lepto4 vaccination.
All my dogs and pups will have the DHP vaccine which is essential.
Lepto is not an essential or required vaccination.
Leptospirosis is rare.
Leptospirosis can be treated with antibiotics.
At this time, Vanguard do offer the Lepto2 vaccination and your vet CAN order this in if they want to offer you as the client a fuller choice.
Should a puppy be given Lepto4 the Northbound health guarantee will be void.
Should a guardian dog be given Lepto4 the contract is in breach of terms.
Did you know that the DHP vaccination need only be given ONCE when the puppy is 10 weeks old, and will be covered through the mothers own immunity until then. See attached image from the Nobivac DHP factsheet.
