First few days with puppy

Owners are always surprised by how confident and well established in routines my pups are.

New owners read in books about how the crate should be in the bedroom.

How crates should start small and increase in size.

Well meaning friends advise that they need to come down every morning at 3am to let puppy out to toilet.

Non of those above tips apply to a Northbound puppy!

How a Northbound puppy settles in…

1) Puppy should always have the same size crate from day1. A size that is suitable for the puppy as a mature dog. The crate should never be fabric.

2) Crate stays downstairs from night 1. No sleeping with the puppy, no taking puppy upstairs, no rocking clocks, no radios, no lights on.

3) Pups go out for their last night toileting at 11pm and then they sleep right through to 6-7.00am.

In about two weeks that will stretch to 7.30am.
