When I first looked for my ideal dog, like you are now, I trawled through the internet cooing over beautiful pictures not sure where to go or who to speak too. I spoke to friends, family and generally accosted lovely dog-owning people in the street to discuss their pets. I knew I wanted a dog that was not too ‘working,’ not too small, not too big and had that special something. I also have allergies to light weight, fly away fur, and also oily fur, so I was looking for a low to non-shedding dog with the right coat to suit me.
By chance I bumped into a neighbour who had recently bought the most gorgeous black bundle of fluff who flopped down outside my house amidst a mass of long luscious curls. After a long conversation I discovered this happy-go-lucky pup was a labradoodle!! Having never heard of the breed before I went away to research further, and since that day my head was honestly and truly turned.
Like all labradoodle owners we believe our dogs are utterly fantastic and not just a dog. Being so bright, alert, people orientated and great fun, it isn’t long before the labradoodle is an extension of your family.
So why am I breeding Australian Labradoodles?
I found myself in a dilemma when seeking another Australian Labradoodle puppy to join my home. It appeared to be a choice of kennel environment bred dogs with health tests, or home bred with minimal or no health tests.
I became aware of horrific puppy farming practises of poodle crosses, of unhealthy pups with untested parents, and yet via the ALAEu and Alaa (specialist Australian Labradoodle Associations) of some amazing and committed breeders striving for best practice and the healthiest pups from the very best parents to take the breed forward.
- I aim to produce well thought-out, occasional Australian Labradoodle litters, reared in my home and via specifically sought out health tested parents from the UK or overseas.
- I aim to follow in Alaeu/Wala best practice and only breed when the time is right, when the health tests are undertaken from both parents, from sound temperaments and to enhance the breed for the long term.
- I aim to support my puppy owners with all aspects of dog owning and to do so with honesty and integrity.
This is an amazing breed and one that will suit almost any family situation. They suit a laid back household, a busy household and of course a family that love to be out and about in the countryside. These dogs love obedience training, agility, gundog training and flyball. They are such a versatile, sweet-natured breed and all they ask in return is love, training and your companionship.
My dogs used for breeding will undergo the following tests: BVA hip/elbow scoring, patella luxation, Pra-prcd, Vwd, BVA annual eye test, Exercise Induced Collapse, Degenerative Myelopathy, Improper Coat, DNA profiling and for my own personal interest genetic colour profiling. Full details and explanations can be found on my Health Tests page.
I do not have a large number of dogs and do not churn out monthly litters. As you can see, my dogs are healthy, active and love life. We adore taking them out for walks and watching them having fun.
I breed a couple of litters a year with the health of my girls foremost in my mind and have been established as a breeder since 2012.
I breed for the best example of the true Australian Labradoodle and my pups are all wanted and loved.
The time and effort I invest in my puppies is reflected in their fine natures and ability to settle into new homes.
I am based in the North West of England on the Lancashire/Cheshire border with easy access from the M6/M60 and within easy reach of Derbyshire, Northumbria, Lancashire, Manchester, Yorkshire, Cumbria and most counties.
